Mission Statement

It is our mission to show the public that an unjust prosecution does not simply injure one innocent person, but spreads out in a ripple effect, touching whole families and affecting the stability and well-being of entire communities.

We will also show how, after serving a prison sentence, most people cannot simply pick up the pieces and carry on with their lives. Feelings of guilt, shame, anger and helplessness linger on for years. The sheer waste of human resources in just one unnecessary prosecution is staggering.

Prosecutors are following personal vendettas, going for convictions rather than Justice. Vaguely worded but severely punished laws such as money laundering or conspiracy are used to pressure people into making deals to avoid long prison terms for, at worst, trivial misdemeanors.

Ordinary people are being harassed and bullied into unfair plea bargains to protect their livelihoods and their families. The result is that hundreds of thousands of innocent people are sitting in our jails for minor infringements of laws they didn’t even know existed. Mad Dog Prosecutors brings convincing arguments that the whole system needs close and constant examination to prevent our Guardians from becoming our Jailers.
